"Another Perspective"

There is a lot more to riding BMX than just the big tricks, filming lines, and riding contests. Sure all that is still fun, but those are just the finished product of hard work, dedication, and fun times days and weeks prior. There is a “behind the scenes” type of feel with the thought of BMX outside of the public eye. When you take away the thought of huge tricks, the crowd, or the commotion of a city, BMX becomes very simple. It becomes a pair of handlebars, a frame, wheels, cranks, pedals, and what type of unique twist you can put on them to make it your own style. It becomes sounds of cassette hubs, tires humming on dirt, squeaky breaks, and clanking metal at the bottom of a ramp. It becomes hanging out with friends and good people who share a similar interest in their lives. It is something you can dedicate yourself too, putting your physical and emotional health on the line just because you have a burning desire to become better at the activity in life that you love to do more than anything.
That is just a little different perspective on things. There can be many things said and every rider will have their own unique outlook on how they relate to riding their bike. But one thing is for certain, if you have fun, do your own thing on your bike, and don’t take the little things for granted, the sky is the limit. This type of perspective on riding is rare to see in photos, but some photographers just have an eye for it. These photos are a few riders from the SE Freestyle BMX team taken by world-class photographer Matt Lingo. There are no big tricks or crazy back drops in them, they just portray BMX in its “simple” form. So go out, enjoy the day, and have fun on your bike.

2012 SE Heavy Hitter Frame

The 2012 SE Heavy Hitter frame became available around the beginning of this month for purchase. The team all got their frames a couple weeks early to get on them in the public eye and feel them out before the official release to the public. The 2012 frame has some upgrades from the 2011 version and all the team riders are loving it. The frame geometry has been updated with a 75 degree head tube, 21″ top tube, and 11.5 bb height. The whole team says it feels nice and responsive with the new head tube angle. Fernando, Kris, and Mike also like the longer top tube to flow around on when they ride trails. This new and improved frame really fits the mold of the new additions that have been made to the SE Freestyle team over the last couple of months. Our riders are all unique in their own way with their own style of riding, so we needed to update the frame to accommodate all the different riding styles they have. The feedback that has come back from them is telling us that it was a success. You can take this frame to the streets, trails, park, and it’s even been said to feel great on a vert ramp. Our team riders are very happy with the way this frame has came out, and we are very happy to share it with you.

Along with the frame, the 2012 Heavy Hitter complete is also available for purchase. All the amazing features of the frame ready to go straight out of the box equipped with dialed parts. Can’t beat it.

Contact your local SE dealer or local bike shop and be sure to pick up a Heavy Hitter of your own!
