Over the past weekend, the Blue Grass National was held in Louisville Kentucky at a track rich in BMX racing history. The SE Bikes BMX race team was on hand and held it down! Friday saw the entire team pull in solid results with Javier Columbo taking 3rd in Vet PRO, Chase Hines taking 6th in A PRO, Cole Acord taking a 7th in 14 cruiser and 5th in 14 expert, Carly Jacobs taking 2nd by no less than an inch in 11 girl, and big 1st place finishes out of Shan Hatfield and Zach Jacobs. Shan took 1st in the 36-40 cruiser class after breaking a pedal in his expert class, while Zach took top honors in the 9 expert class.

Zach Jacobs had a GREAT showing over in Kentucky, here he is on his way to a 1st place finish in 9 expert

Saturday brought in more great results with Vet PRO Javier Columbo snagging another 3rd place, Chase Hines taking a 5th in A PRO, Cole Acord taking 4th in 14 cruiser, Carly Jacobs taking 3rd in 11 girl, Zach Jacobs taking 2nd in 9 expert, and Shan Hatfield keeping the momentum rolling with another huge 1st place in 36-40 cruiser and bouncing back from a broken pedal the day before in his expert class to grab 1st place in that as well. Mark Shan up for a Saturday double!

11 girl Carly Jacobs is always a strong contender in her class, and she proved that again in Kentucky with her consistent solid finishes that are always produced by her.

Everyone gained an extra hurdle to jump on Sunday’s racing, and that was the beat up track conditions that Hurricane Issac produced. It still did not stop the team from accomplishing even MORE solid finishes starting off with Javier Columbo grabbing another solid 3rd place in Vet PRO, Carly Jacobs had a crash in her 11 girl main event but was still able to walk away with a 6th place, Zach Jacobs walked away on Sunday with a solid 5th place finish which was enough for him to wrap up the Eastern Divisional Championship in 9 expert, and Shan Hatfield walked away with yet another 1st place finish and wrapping up the Eastern Divisional Championship in 36-40 cruiser in style. He also produced a solid 2nd place finish in his expert class. We want to say, good job to all of our riders!

The man of the weekend in 36-40 cruiser was SE Bike’s Shan Hatfield. He went 3 for 3 on wins in his cruiser class and walked away champion
